The 15th SHABA season is set to open this Sunday, August 29, 2010, 1:00PM at the new SHS-Ateneo de Cebu campus at Canduman, Mandaue City.  SHABA has a new president this year in the name of Mr. Regan King.  The SHABA Board of Directors is composed on Mr. Jack Huang, Mr. Perry Lim, Mr. Kenneth Lee, Marcelino Co, Mr. Ricky Tio, Mr. Giovanni Young, and Mr. Kenneth Onglatco.  Immediate past president Mr. Philip Maynard Ortega is still on board.  Likewise, Mr.

DATE of OPENING: July 20, 2008, Sunday, 1:00pm to 5:00pm
Assembly Time:  12:30pm

Fees: Each team must pay a non-refundable tournament fee of P15,000.00 and a refundable bond of P3,000.00

For Batch 2008:  Tournament fee is P 8,000.00 and bond of P2,000.00
For Batch 2007-2005:  Tournament fee is P10,000.00 and bond of P2,000.00

Elimination Round: Teams will play single round robin against all teams

First Round Playoffs: Top 8 teams will advance to semi-final round. Top four teams will gain twice to beat advantage.

Match 1: Team 1 vs. Team 8
Match 2: Team 2 vs. Team 7
Match 3: Team 3 vs. Team 6
Match 4: Team 4 vs. Team 5

Second Round Playoffs: Teams will play a best of three series.

Winner of Match 1 vs. Winner of Match 4
Winner of Match 2 vs. Winner of Match 3

FINALS: Teams will play a best of three series.

In coordination with Sacred Heart School Jesuits Alumni Association (SHSJAA), Sacred Heart Alumni Basketball Association (SHABA), the longest running Alumni Basketball Tournament in Cebu is set to start its 13th Season this July 20, 2008.  The games will be played in SHS-J gymnasium located in Gen. Maxilom Ave., Cebu City.  Games are scheduled on Wednesdays and Sundays.  This yearly event aims at strengthening the bond of the Sacred Heart Alumni everywhere through the spirit of brotherhood and camaraderie.  Teams are gathered on scheduled play dates in one gymnasium where interaction and friendly encounters are a welcome sight.

SHABA will have a new commissioner this season in the person of Bobby Inoferio.  Bobby Knight as he is fondly called in the basketball community brings into the group a wealth of experience from his vast accolades of successful accomplishments in basketball.  He will be manning the post with utmost integrity in line with the vision of SHABA.
