Winning its first championship,Echo appliance would outplayed the most experienced batch Pier One who had won 7 SHABA titles in the league.Both teams struggled on offense early on but Echo's defense kept Pier One's high-octane offense at bay.Echo would take advantage without Pier Ones two top stars Dennis Que and Dave Lim. but Pier One would still managed to play a close fight playing without their two leading scorers as they fought all three quarters with the leadership of Chad Canares bringing his team with a top score of 21 points, that clinched the lead of Echo ending the third quarter 52-49. Pier One collapsed in the fourth as Echo rallied to a 15-4 run with Eldie Cabahug, Kester Gajudo and Antonio Datan tandem, flared up their team efforts sinking in three consecutive three point bombs that stunned Pier One giving them a strong lead in the last 2 minutes of the fourth period putting echo to a 14 point lead biggest lead of the game. pier one would try to bounce back but Echo's lead was too much to handle.

Eldie Cabahug, topped his team with 19 points along with his 4-6 three point shooting. Antonio Datan and kester gajudo with 13 each.

-Game 2 of the best of three series of the 2009 SHABA finals.

 Dennis Que scored 10 of his 25 points at the opening frame as Pier One started the game hot leading to a 22-15 edge at the end of the first quarter. However, Eldie Cabahug refused to buckle and got all his 12 points in the third quarter along with his 2 triples that gave Echo a 19-10 run in the third quarter. Kester Gajudo got out of the game early in the third quarter because of cramps after scoring 16 points in the first half.

The game came close in the fourth quarter in last seconds of the game with less than eight seconds remaining on the clock Pier One leading by three points 64-61, Antonio Datan would make a heroic three point shot forcing the game to overtime. But defending champions Pier One would extend the finals to game three. Grabbing the win with a final score of 71-70.

Dennis Que scored a game high of 25 points, while Dave Ting contributed 21 and also had 5 triples that helped Pier One to victory.

-For the second year in a row, Pier One and Echo appliance will once again clash for the championship of the 2009 SHABA league. 2008 SHABA champion Pier One would play a close fight against team rival Echo appliance, ending all three quarters with only a half shot deficit. but the game was decided in the fourth period, with the combined forces of Adrian Lao and Jiggy Acha they would dominate the shaded area grabbing 16 combined points in the quarter alone telling the 23-11 blitz of echo appliance in the fourth quarter. Adrian Lao scored a game high of 15 points, while Acha contributed 13 to help win the first game of the best of three series of the 2009 SHABA championship game.

-Both teams played a very close fight, exchanging leads in each possession,but the game was decided in the fourth quarter. Dave Lim of pier one would once again bring his team to the finals, getting the game high of 24 points. He would carry his team on his shoulders during crunch time,pulling up 3 consecutive three point bombs that gave pier one the boost catching up in the fourth quarter. Theogene Lim would sink in two crucial free throws with less than 15 seconds on the game clock.Savers would then cut short in their last possession of the game,where they wouldn't able to force the game to overtime.

-Worldwide would lead all three quarters of the game with worlwide's six footer, Bobby Gothong dominating the boards and block shots. but Echo appliance would come back in the fourth pressing worldwide using a full court trap,that gave worldwide a hard time bringing the ball resulting to turnovers, Echo would then rally to a 6-0 run on the last 3 minutes of the game. last 17 seconds of the game, with both teams tied up 45 all. Antonio Datan would step up in crunch time, making a contested long jump shot in the corner that gave Echo the win. Eldie Cabahug would lead his team in scoring with 18 points along with his 4 out of 6 three point shooting. Echo Appliance would advance in the championship relieving the 2008 SHABA finals againts Pier One.

-First games of the second round shaba playoffs started with big team match ups of Savers home depot batch 94 & 95 againts the oldest team in shaba batch 90. Savers giving a strong start ending the first half, with a score of 40- 23. with James Edquila scoring 12 points in the first quarter alone, pier one having a hard time penetrating inside the shaded areas with saver's guards giving good defense by double teaming Dave Lim in the high post, not letting him get easy baskets where he only scored 9 points in the game. Pier One tried to catch up in the last two minutes of the game, but saver's lead was too big. X pbl player Joel Co grabbing 26 points, being unstoppable drivng through Pier One's defense with his Lebron James like moves.

-Robert Gilo coming back from his 5 games absence because of a ancle injury, where he made a strong defensive presence down the post for worldwide matching up Echo's big man Jose Marie Acha. Both teams playing a low scoring game. with head coach Pablo Yu of  Worldwide, he would bring the team leading all 3 quarters of the game ending the third with a score of 38-25. but Echo would come back in the fourth where they would rally 10 points with a 18-8 run,showing tight defense giving worldwide's guards a hard time bringing the ball that forced them turn overs that would give Echo easy pass break points. but worldwide would control the game in the last minutes of the game, winning with a final score to 46-43.
